Men Who Dance takes the audience on an artistic journey that explores and affirms men’s roles in the evolution of movement from ancient times to the present. Male presence on the concert stage, in the theater, and in commercial and video production has risen significantly in recent years. Men are no longer just the “frame that supports the picture,” but rather the focal point of the story. Male themes have become more diverse and personal, highlighting not only their strengths but also their vulnerabilities.
The show takes the next step in gender exploration by presenting exhilarating male variations, pas de deux’s, and group work created by both world-renowned and emerging choreographers. Dancers from various companies collaborate with other guest artists and performers to present a diverse and dynamic program aimed at attracting an intergenerational audience from all walks of life, including those who already support the arts and new potential dance enthusiasts.
