Women business owners seeking knowledge and inspiration can tap into two virtual panels BankUnited will host in October as part of WomenUnited, an initiative that celebrates October as National Women’s Small Business Owners Month. Advance registration is required to attend the free panels.
The first one takes place Thursday, October 8, 2 p.m., when women business owners can hear from some of South Florida’s leading business women and experts on what it takes to start and run a successful small business. “Taking Care of Business,” will be moderated by BankUnited Executive Vice President Lisa Shim, who was recently named by American Banker as one of the “Most Powerful Women in Banking.” Panelists include: Jane Grant, president, Pierson Grant Public Relations; Victoria Hughes, director, Florida Women Business Center; Dr. Pandwe Gibson, president and founder of EcoTech Visions; and Clara Diaz-Leal, BankUnited executive vice president, retail executive for the Miami-Dade market.
