The Juneteenth Experience MainStage Performance

Hued Songs presents The Juneteenth Experience MainStage Performance, the artistic centerpiece of its annual Juneteenth series. Now in its sixth year, the free concert-theater production brings together live music, spoken word, dance, choreography and visual storytelling to honor Juneteenth and celebrate Black artistic tradition as central to the American story. This year’s performance unfolds under Hued Songs’ season theme, “We, Too, Sing America,” inspired by the Langston Hughes poem, and asks: Who is America, and who gets to say so?
The performance moves through gospel, blues, R&B and classical traditions, tracing the influence of Black communities on American sound and culture. The Juneteenth Experience returns to the Miami Beach Bandshell, where it began in 2021, and makes its debut at the African American Research Library and Cultural Center in Fort Lauderdale on June 20, 2026 at 7 p.m. with an after-party to follow.
