Urs Fischer Art Talk
November 14 @ 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Swiss artist Urs Fischer joins Bonnie Clearwater for a conversation about his experimental practice and fascination with impermanence. Fischer frequently works with ephemeral materials such as clay and melting wax, exemplified by Julian, a monumental wax-candle portrait of fellow artist Julian Schnabel that is designed to be lit and gradually melt away. This work, along with six bronze sculptures depicting reclining female figures in various stages of decomposition, is featured in the exhibition Frozen Gestures.
