Join us in this Holiday Issue as we explore the unexpected twists that led to a full-blown cirque production, embodying the spirit of creativity and the joyous essence of the holiday season.
Hello, Fort Lauderdale aficionados! Ashley Thomas here, juggling life as your publisher, and my role at Print Dynamics. Let me rewind the clock to a moment during the COVID whirlwind, where little did I know a chance encounter would circle back in the most extraordinary way at Print Dynamics.
So there I am, working away at my desk, when a woman named Stacey Keller calls me up about a children’s book. Busy day, masks everywhere. She, along with Neil Goldberg, the book’s author, drops by with some early pencil sketches, and we dive into quotes, tossing ideas into the wind. Fast forward a couple of years, and my neighbor introduces me to this creative wizard, Neil. We arrange a meeting, and as I step into his studio, he thrusts into my hands the finished masterpiece, POMP SNOW & CIRQUEumstance.
Little did I expect that Neil would recognize me as the person who first laid eyes on his initial book concept years earlier. His excitement was palpable — he’d landed a publishing deal after our first encounter and brought the book to life. Imagine that! The guy I met at Print Dynamics with a sketch was now orchestrating a full-blown cirque production.
Curious for the full scoop? Dive into the December issue of Fort Lauderdale Magazine, where we unravel Neal’s incredible journey. From our first meeting to the evolution of POMP SNOW & CIRQUEumstance into a cirque spectacle, it’s a story that’ll leave you in awe. Stay tuned, Fort Lauderdale!
As the year comes to an end, all of us here at Fort Lauderdale Magazine wish you and your loved ones a most joyous holiday season. May the new year bring you peace, goodwill and prosperity.
We will see you in 2024!
