Dining in the Dark benefiting Lighthouse of Broward

November 14 @ 6:00 pm - 10:00 pm
$250 – $2500
  • « Dine Out With A View at Olive & Sea
  • Starlight Musicals »

Dust off your sequins, platform shoes and disco style for an unforgettable evening where dazzling entertainment meets a powerful mission.
Lighthouse of Broward invites the community to experience the 12th Annual Dining in the Dark: Studio 54, presented by the Josephine S. Leiser Foundation, on Saturday, November 14, beginning at 6 p.m. at Margaritaville Hollywood Beach Resort, 1111 N. Ocean Drive in Hollywood.
Inspired by the glamour and excitement of New York City’s legendary Studio 54, the ballroom will be transformed into a glittering, dazzling, disco celebration while giving guests a unique opportunity to better understand the experiences of individuals who are visually impaired or blind.
The evening kicks off with a lively cocktail reception, where guests can peruse the enticing silent auction and enjoy the sounds from the American Heritage High School Rock Band. Guests will then enter the ballroom for an immersive dining experience designed to heighten the senses through rich textures, enticing aromas and bold flavors. During the evening, guests will be invited to wear blindfolds, offering a firsthand glimpse into navigating the world without sight.
Following dinner, guests will enjoy special awards presentations, an exciting live auction, music by the electrifying ReaXtion band and a high-energy dance party inspired by the iconic disco era.
“Dining in the Dark is much more than a gala. It’s an experience that builds empathy while celebrating the strength, resilience and accomplishments of the people we serve,” said Ellyn Drotzer, president and CEO of Lighthouse of Broward. “This year’s Studio 54 theme promises an evening filled with glamour, entertainment and purpose, with every dollar raised helping us empower children, adults and seniors who are visually impaired or blind to live independently and confidently.”
Proceeds from Dining in the Dark directly support Lighthouse of Broward’s life-changing programs that provide rehabilitation, education, life skills training, employment services and other resources that foster independence, confidence and opportunity for people of all ages who are blind or visually impaired throughout Broward County.
Guests are encouraged to embrace the Studio 54 spirit in glamorous disco-inspired attire.
Sponsorship opportunities are still available. For sponsorship information, contact Jose Lopez Masso at JLopez@LHOB.org. To purchase a table, including VIP tables, and tickets, contact Tranique Merritt at TMerritt@LHOB.org.
