The Quarterdeck
1035 SE 17th St., 954.524.6163 & 2933 E Las Olas Blvd., 954.525.2010
The Qdeck’s handful of locations – including the Fort Lauderdale venues on Las Olas near the beach, and just off SE 17th Street – offer one of the most classic Lauderdale menus around. They also offer lots of outdoor seating, classic beach drinks, live music and the sort of vibe that’s as authentic as the food. So of course, there are some quality conch fritters on the menu.
The Floridian
1410 E Las Olas Blvd., 954.463.4041
The city’s oldest diner offers true local history and tradition. It also helps keep alive the legacy of another local place that’s no longer with us. The Floridian’s Ernie’s menu is taken from Ernie’s Bar-B-Q, the legendary spot that closed in 2017 after 60 years. It’s got all the staples that “Dirty Ernie’s” was known for. That means the place’s legendary Bimini bread. And it means conch fritters that have been bringing back locals for generations.
Snappers Fish & Chicken
2750 W Sunrise Blvd., 954.581.8336
What this Broward Boulevard spot lacks in bells and whistles, it makes up for in amazing food. They’ve got snapper (of course), grouper, catfish and tilapia, as well as on-land staples like subs and Philly cheesesteaks. And their conch menu is its own thing. There’s fried conch, conch salad – and of course, some of the finest fritters you’ll find.
