Glamping Done Right

Glamping offers a way to stay close to nature without sacrificing warmth, privacy or reliable amenities, and in Florida’s interior, it’s becoming one of the easiest ways to experience open land.

For travelers drawn to the outdoors but uninterested in pitching tents or sharing facilities, glamping offers a practical middle ground. The experience keeps the setting natural while removing many of the inconveniences of traditional camping. Real beds replace sleeping bags. Climate control replaces guesswork. Privacy is built into the stay rather than negotiated on arrival.

Florida’s interior is particularly well suited to this accommodation style. Away from the coast, the landscape opens up, nights cool down and space becomes part of the experience. In this setting, glamping feels less like a novelty and more like a logical way to spend time outdoors without sacrificing comfort.

At Westgate River Ranch Resort & Rodeo, glamping serves as a central and approachable way to experience the property. The tents are located in a dedicated area that keeps guests close to activities, dining and the rodeo grounds, while still maintaining a sense of separation from the ranch’s busier areas.

Each canvas tent is constructed on solid flooring and furnished with full-size beds, lighting and space for luggage. The interiors are simple and functional, designed for comfort rather than decoration. Climate control is standard, with both air conditioning and heating. While daytime temperatures are often warm, evenings can cool quickly, especially during winter months, making the heating feature essential for the stay.

The bathroom arrangement is one of the glamping setup’s most notable elements. Each tent is assigned its own private bathroom and shower, housed in a centralized structure near the tents, but access is exclusive to each individual campsite. The design provides hot showers, mirrors and well-lit interiors while preserving privacy, an uncommon feature in many outdoor accommodations.

The glamping area’s central location makes it an efficient base throughout the day. Guests can easily return between activities to change clothes, grab an extra layer or take a break. The ranch offers a range of experiences, including airboat rides, horseback riding, archery and skeet shooting, all accessible without long travel times.

Evenings often center on the ranch’s Saturday night rodeo. The arena is within walking distance of the glamping tents, allowing guests to attend without transportation. The event features bull riding, barrel racing and traditional announcer-led performances, drawing both overnight guests and visitors from surrounding areas. Once the rodeo concludes, the glamping area returns to a quieter pace.

Fire pits throughout the glamping section provide casual gathering spaces after dark. Frequently used by families and small groups, they allow guests to wind down without leaving the immediate area. The atmosphere remains relaxed, with plenty of space to step away when quiet is preferred.

For guests seeking a more elevated option, the ranch also offers Lux Glamping accommodations. These tents feature larger layouts and upgraded finishes and are consistently in high demand. Lux Glamping frequently sells out, and Westgate River Ranch is currently expanding this category by an additional 50% to meet continued interest.

Beyond the glamping section, other accommodations are visible across the property, including lodge-style rooms, RV sites and more secluded options set farther out. Each offers a different way to experience the ranch, making return visits feel varied rather than repetitive.

Glamping at Westgate River Ranch demonstrates how outdoor stays can be both practical and comfortable. With private bathrooms, climate-controlled tents and easy access to activities, it offers a straightforward way to experience Florida’s interior landscape while leaving room to explore different accommodations on future visits.
