Design worth celebrating, a dinner worth dressing up for and a month that never goes unnoticed.
March has always felt like a personal favorite. It’s my birthday month, so I’m fully on board with celebrating anything that calls for a little extra sparkle. It also brings St. Patrick’s Day into the mix, a reminder that good energy is always welcome. Add our annual Design Issue to the calendar, and suddenly March feels like a month that knows exactly what it’s doing.
Design shapes how we live, often without us even realizing it: the rooms we feel most comfortable in, the spaces that energize us, the places we never want to leave. That’s why this issue matters. It’s not just about beautiful interiors, it’s about intention, creativity and the people behind the work. This year, we’re excited to feature Manhas Design, our Best of Fort Lauderdale winner for design. Their work consistently balances sophistication with livability, which is no small feat. Recognition like this is earned, and spotlighting talent that continues to elevate our city is something we truly value.
March also brings another reason to gather around the table. DINE Fort Lauderdale continues this month with one of the series’ most anticipated evenings at Timpano. If you’ve ever spent an evening there, you already know the energy: stylish, social and effortlessly fun. This dinner is everything a great night out should be, with thoughtfully curated courses, perfectly paired wines and an atmosphere that turns a meal into a lasting memory.
For me, food has always been about connection. One of my longtime favorites is Greek Islands Taverna, a family-run restaurant that always seems to have a line out the door. I’ve known Christos Kantzavelos for years, so watching what his family has built feels familiar in the best way. It’s the kind of place people return to again and again, not just for the food, but for how it makes them feel. Restaurants like that don’t just serve meals; they create community, something Fort Lauderdale does exceptionally well.
What I love most about this issue is how naturally everything connects. Design inspires how we gather. Food brings us together. Community gives it meaning. Whether you’re flipping through these pages for inspiration, planning your next night out or simply appreciating the creative energy that runs through Fort Lauderdale, this issue is meant to be savored slowly.
March invites us to celebrate in ways both big and small. If there’s a theme this month, it’s that good things are worth acknowledging and even better when shared.
Here’s to design that inspires, tables filled with good conversation and a month that always feels like it deserves a celebration.
