As Dick Clark once said, “Music is the soundtrack of your life.”
And a life soundtrack is exactly what Sir Paul McCartney has created, taking 60 years of music and weaving it into one show.
The former Beatle is a songwriter, composer, vocalist, poet and painter – and arguably the most commercially successful performer and composer in popular music.
He has reached more than $100 million in sales with his singles alone and 60 gold records.
He is in the Guinness Book of World Records for most records ever sold. He’s a two-time inductee in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame – once with the Beatles, once on his own – and an 18-time Grammy winner.
The early history is well known but fun to remember. He and John Lennon began their early career in 1957 as the Quarrymen. (George Harrison was also in the band for a short time.) In the early 1960s that group morphed into the Beatles, who of course went on to record the best-selling music of all time. Sir Paul and John wrote most of the material for the band, and the rest is history.
The legendary entertainer has, ahem, been on a long and winding road throughout his career. He said he would get back, and he absolutely has. So let’s come together for a spectacular evening of pure musical pleasure.
