This home is all about design and details. From stunning light fixtures to interesting wall textures and décor – you’ll find anything and everything chic here. The 11,000-square-foot residence sits on a 0.44 acre lot and features eight bedrooms with nine-and-a-half baths.
Upon entry, an extravagant crystal chandelier greets you in the foyer. The Murano glass and cascading light fixture will hold your attention for a beat before you notice the gold accents and décor below.
Beyond that, the three-story home has an executive office, three family rooms and a swimming pool. The home’s chic design is thanks to Toronto-based luxury interiors firm Lori Morris Design.
The main living area boasts black velvet channel wall panels with matching banquette and a white leather curved sofa to soften the design. Throughout the home, you’ll notice a color palette that is classic – black with white tones – infused with hints of metal and jewels for warmth to create a cool, comfortable vibe. The ultimate goal for designer Lori Morris was to create a space “sturdy enough to withstand kids and dogs who want to be able to lounge without damaging any precious design.”
To accomplish this, she incorporated porcelain tile flooring throughout which is ideal for pets, sports shoes and high traffic, plus it’s low maintenance. At the same time, it resembles the understated warmth of a wood grain to add to the style she was going for.
For the master bedroom, Morris’ vision included gold dripping wallpaper, a white upholstered headboard, soft shimmering palettes of nudes, cream and pale pink. She describes the master bedroom as “the perfect retreat”; it includes his-and-hers walk-in closets and an en-suite. The en-suite’s makeover included a new walk-in steam shower, custom double sink vanity and private makeup area – all in a striking black and white geometric pattern.
The executive office features a custom desk, as well as walls wrapped in a custom striated wallpaper in rich deep tones of black and brown to create high contrast. Morris’ goal was to create a setting that feels both comfortable and motivating.
