Through color, materials and carefully defined spaces, designer Laura Sessa transforms Lürssen’s CC-SUMMER into a collection of distinct living environments that feel more like a private estate than a superyacht.
At 312 feet, CC-SUMMER occupies rare territory even within the superyacht world. Built by German shipyard Lürssen and delivered in 2019, the vessel possesses the scale, amenities and technical capabilities expected of a yacht in this category. What makes it memorable, however, is not its size. It is the way the interiors challenge expectations.
Large yachts often rely on repetition. Similar suites, matching lounges and consistent finishes create continuity from deck to deck. Designer Laura Sessa takes a different approach aboard CC-SUMMER. Rather than treating the yacht as a single continuous space, she divides it into a series of distinct environments, each with its own personality, while keeping them connected through craftsmanship, proportion and material selection.
The effect becomes apparent almost immediately.
The owner’s suite, positioned on the upper deck, establishes one of the yacht’s strongest design identities. Deep navy upholstery, crisp white millwork and geometric detailing create a tailored atmosphere that feels both contemporary and timeless. Expansive windows wrap the space in natural light while maintaining a constant connection to the sea beyond. The room is refined without being formal, balancing comfort with precision in every detail.

Elsewhere, the design language shifts dramatically.
One guest suite embraces rich crimson tones paired with glossy wood finishes and patterned wall coverings. Another introduces a softer palette of sea-glass greens, pale stone and lighter textiles. While many yachts repeat the same cabin layout throughout, CC-SUMMER allows individual spaces to establish their own character. The rooms feel curated rather than duplicated, creating a more residential experience for guests moving throughout the vessel.
That residential influence continues in the yacht’s public spaces.
The main salon is anchored by one of the yacht’s most distinctive design features: a bold striped floor that stretches through the room, creating movement and visual rhythm beneath the furnishings. Seating is arranged in intimate groupings rather than large formal clusters, making the expansive room feel approachable. Deep blue upholstery, leather accents, polished surfaces and custom furnishings add layers of texture, while floor-to-ceiling windows frame uninterrupted views of the water.
Nearby, a grand piano serves as the focal point of another gathering space. The room demonstrates one of the yacht’s recurring design themes: creating destinations within destinations. Rather than functioning as a simple passage between larger areas, the lounge feels intentional, inviting guests to stop, gather and spend time in the space itself.
Throughout the yacht, Sessa uses color strategically. Blues recur in principal rooms, creating subtle continuity between decks. Whites brighten the interiors and emphasize natural light, while polished wood surfaces introduce warmth. The result is a yacht that feels cohesive without becoming predictable.
The wellness areas introduce an entirely different atmosphere.
Located within the beach club, the spa exchanges the structured lines found elsewhere aboard for softer forms and organic shapes. Curved architectural elements guide movement through the space, while indirect lighting washes across walls and ceilings. Marble surfaces, neutral tones and carefully integrated lighting create a calm, restorative environment. Rather than an afterthought, the wellness facilities are treated as a destination in their own right.
The same attention extends to the fitness center, where expansive windows maintain a visual connection to the sea. Even practical spaces benefit from thoughtful placement and design, reinforcing the sense that every area on board has been carefully considered.
Outside, the yacht reveals another personality.
Dining terraces, shaded lounges and oversized seating areas transform the exterior decks into a collection of outdoor retreats overlooking the water. Large umbrellas provide structure and symmetry, while furniture arrangements encourage both conversation and relaxation. A swimming pool and surrounding lounge areas create natural gathering points without overwhelming the spaces.
What ultimately distinguishes CC-SUMMER is the restraint in the design. Despite accommodating 12 guests across 10 staterooms and offering a long list of amenities, the interiors never compete for attention. Instead, each space contributes to a larger composition.

For a vessel of this scale, that may be its greatest achievement. Rather than feeling like one enormous luxury environment repeated across multiple decks, CC-SUMMER unfolds as a series of carefully crafted experiences. From the navy-and-white owner’s suite and lacquered guest accommodations to the piano lounge, spa and exterior entertaining areas, every space contributes to a design that feels thoughtful, personal and remarkably livable.
The result is a yacht defined not by excess, but by atmosphere—a floating collection of rooms where architecture, materials and craftsmanship work together to create a sense of place far beyond the horizon.
