The 11th Blue Wild Ocean Adventure Expo will take place April 14 and 15 at the Broward County Convention Center. The expo is considered to be South Florida’s premier water sports expo for water sports enthusiasts of all ages. The indoor event features more than 150 exhibitors specializing in freediving, scuba, spearfishing, paddle boarding, adventure travel and more. In addition, event goers will experience one of the most extensive marine art and underwater photography exhibits in the country. Entry to the expo is $20, which includes a goodie bag and access to the after party taking place at the Courtyard Fort Lauderdale Beach by Marriott.

Broward Health Foundation hosts its sixth annual ball on May 12 at the Westin Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort. The Bollywood-themed event will feature live music from The Soul Survivors Band and a night filled with cocktails, dinner, dancing and live and silent auctions. Proceeds will benefit all Broward Health hospitals, with a special paddle bid going towards the Neonatal Intensive Care renovation project at Broward Health Coral Springs. Major sponsors include 21st Century Oncology, Aetna, OK Generators, Ultimate Software, Turner Construction, Cresa and BankUnited.

As part of Phase II of the museum’s Expansion and Renovation Capital Campaign, the Museum of Discovery and Science has opened its outdoor Science Park. The exhibit includes new versions of the hands-on learning experiences MODS is known for. Outdoor interactive exhibits include kaleidoscopes; a ball target practice range that teaches concepts around air pressure, trajectory and gravity; a controlled “bottle rocket” experiment; a build-your-own roller coaster and more.
