If the topic of luxurious superyachts comes up in conversation, there’s a good chance Christensen Shipyards will also come up. One of their latest vessels, which launched this year, is unconventional compared to their traditional designs. But it’s turning heads on the water.
The Chasseur features six staterooms that comfortably accommodate 12 guests. It offers four decks, a dining salon, a foyer, a large Jacuzzi tub, a dayhead in the lazarette, lounging spaces, two dining areas and a helipad. The boat reaches a maximum speed of 16 knots and a range of 4000+ nautical miles.
Since its launch earlier this year, the 160-foot motor yacht has made waves in every way from its minimalistic colors to its modern design. Its owner was very involved in every detail to ensure its timeless identity. However, it was the vessel’s predecessor Odessa that inspired its sleek design.
The Odessa, also a 160-foot yacht, was one of the first to exemplify a contemporary interior that attracted the attention of Chasseur’s owner. It was the job of Varo Interior Design to capture this feel again.
To begin, it was important to blend the interior and exterior of the boat using neutral colors so as to promote comfort in a luxurious way. The milk tones throughout did so in a subtle fashion. Sycamore walls, light teak and holly wooden floors were included in this detailed refinement and are consistent throughout.
And while the colors play a vital role in transitioning its interior to the exterior, the ability of its architecture to absorb light shimmers beautifully and adds to its overall aesthetic. The glass, placed in carefully picked areas, supports this theme.
You’ll also notice throughout the vessel a thoughtfully curated art collection of two dozen photographs and sculptures.
Entertainment also goes a long way here. Not only is the yacht adorned with 50-inch flatscreens in each of the five staterooms, but it also includes two backlit bars. One is located on the sun deck and the other indoors in the sky lounge.
