L.A. Lee YMCA/Mizell Community Center Turns 2

The L.A. Lee YMCA/Mizell Community Center in Fort Lauderdale is celebrating its second anniversary this month, and the South Florida community is invited to take part in the week-long bash to commemorate the occasion. The celebration kicks off Monday, May 13 and culminates with a Birthday Block Party on Saturday, May 18 outside the L.A. Lee YMCA/Mizell Community Center.

Schedule of events:

• Member Appreciation Day (Monday, May 13 @ 7 a.m. – 12 p.m.) – The Y will be serving a complimentary continental breakfast for members from 7 am to noon. From 10 am to noon, there will be a Wellness Fair in the gymnasium at the YMCA, with vendors in the health and wellness industry, as well as activities for the entire family.
• Provident Hospital Reunion (Tuesday, May 14 @ 6 – 8 p.m.) – Join us for a memorable occasion as we come together to honor the rich history and lasting impact of Provident Hospital.
• Adult Game Night: Birthday Bash & Bingo (Thursday, May 16 @ 6 – 10 p.m.) – Join us at the Lee YMCA/Mizell Community Center’s Victory Black Box Theater for a special birthday bingo edition of Adult Game Night. This event reoccurs every third Thursday of the month.
• Birthday Block Party (Saturday, May 18 @ 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.) – Members and residents will enjoy festivities that include a live DJ, music, interactive games and activities, a bounce house, Zumba and hip-hop exercise demonstrations, prizes and giveaways, food and beverages from local food trucks and much more.
