About Brad Miller:
Photographing our world from a different perspective. Artistically and humbly, Brad Miller’s photographic art purely expresses the essence of the saying ‘beauty is all around us’. The Internationally renowned photographer takes us into his world of black and white photography. When one sees the timeless classic images in bold black and white, they are mesmerized, for a special moment in time, reminding us all that we are born of the earth and have roots as the trees do around us, sharing our world and our breath with the plants and life surrounding us equally. It forebodes us the thought of the pollution our environment as man, at this very moment, struggles to overcome and preserve. Our existence is not to destroy, but to be one with nature, nurture and experience the deep network of energy that flows through all living things and how glorious it is to be living among this land and these trees in the beauty of life which we all share, globally, that which symbolizes our one true existence. Miller extends this connection, a monumental feeling between the human form and the landscape is how he expresses his most intimate vision. The unity we share in our day to day rituals of life, goes by, often overlooking the beauty of the glowing trees, the glimmering sunshine, lakes, rivers, mountains, and dense forests. Miller is able to comprehensively capture these beautiful champion trees, our most precious natural resource. He portrays through his eyes that we are surrounded by this awesome beauty around us, the female form and nature, the interconnected organic, and the spiritual and psychological constant. This unique body of work is all about the love for environment, the strength of women and artistically, her form in relation to natural forms. Through his lens, he allows us to feel the new vitality in the natural formation of the clouds, trees, and sky as they fall into place naturally. The work forces us to think outside of ourselves and how each of us, as humans, can have great impact on the conservation and preservation of our world as we see the world through Miller’s eyes.
About Thea Crist:
Growing up on the New Jersey Shore, from an early age Thea Crist was inspired by the
subtle shades of blue of the ocean and the golden, green hues of farmlands and forests of the Garden
State. Music and art have been her twin passions over a lifetime of work and travel. After a successful career as a nurse-anesthetist, she turned her focus to art full time as a way to bring joy and inspiration to herself and to others, with exhibits of her paintings in the Miami-Fort Lauderdale area where she now lives. “Beauty is all around us even when we are in the midst of the most mundane tasks,” says Thea. Look up to see a cloud formation in a cobalt sky as you are walking to work or stop to listen to the stark cheerfulness of a songbird at dawn; an orange moon rising and it’s reflections on the water. Such small things can lift our spirits, giving us a reprieve from everyday concerns.” As an artist, I’ve always been drawn to water. The azures, greens, turquoises of the tropics, the steely grey of the North Atlantic and the deep blues of the Mediterranean, never fail to captivate and fascinate me. Painting is a kind of meditation and being in the moment all sense of time fades for me into colors on canvas
