September 1 @ 8:00 am - September 28 @ 11:30 pm

September is golden at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts for fans of everything from the hit sitcom The Golden Girls to music and comedy greats Herbie Hancock, Ray LaMontagne, the music of Abba, Matteo Lane and more, and of course everyone’s favorite neighborhood Spider-Man™.

One of Variety’s 2023 Top Comics to Watch, Kurtis Conner brings The GoodFellow World Tour to the Au-Rene Theater as part of the Truist Comedy Series on Sunday, September 1 at 7 p.m. A featured performer at Just For Laughs 2023, he released his first comedy special, Keep Busy, last fall. Following sold-out performances and rave reviews across the country, The Golden Girls are back and better than ever with a brand new stage show that’s more exciting than a trip to the Rusty Anchor. Golden Girls: The Laughs Continue delivers a month of performances in the Amaturo Theater Tuesday, September 3 – Sunday, September 29. We find Sophia out on bail after being busted by the DEA for running a drug ring for retirees. Blanche and Rose have founded CreakN, a thriving sex app for seniors. And Dorothy is trying to hold it all together with help from a new (much) younger sex-crazed lover. Golden Girls: The Laughs Continue allows audiences to relive the heartfelt hilarity of the four ladies who never stopped being best friends. The play is written by Robert Leleux, author of The Memoirs of a Beautiful Boy and The Living End. The show is directed by Eric Swanson, who was the co-founder and executive director of The Detroit Actors’ Theatre Company. The cast includes Ryan Bernier as Dorothy, Vince Kelley as Blanche, Adam Graber as Rose, Christopher Kamm as Sophia, and Tommy Favorite as Stanley/Burt. This tour is produced by Murray & Peter Present in a production presented by the Broward Center for the Performing Arts and Innovation Arts. This production is rated 18+ only (adult themed comedy). Performance times vary.

Building on the success of the sold-out global shows of the first Oscar®-winning Spider-Man™ animated Spider-Verse film, comes the highly anticipated sequel: Spider-Man™: Across The Spider-Verse presented as part of the Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital Imagination Series in the Au-Rene Theater on September 6 at 8 p.m. The spectacle will feature the movie showcased on a colossal HD screen, complemented by a diverse ensemble of musicians and instrumentalists performing the film’s iconic score and soundtrack live. This extraordinary lineup includes a full orchestra and a skilled scratch DJ on turntables as well as percussion and electronic instrumentalists. The film witnesses the return of Miles Morales, our beloved friendly neighborhood Spider-Man. After reuniting with Gwen Stacy, he embarks on an interdimensional journey across the Multiverse and encounters the Spider Society, a formidable team charged with safeguarding the very fabric of reality. When differing approaches to a new threat divide the heroes, Miles must navigate this rift alone, driven by a determination to protect those he holds dear.
