Business is Beaming

BEAMs, fortlauderdale.gov
Hopeful entrepreneurs can get their business on track with the help of the City of Fort Lauderdale’s BEAMs program. It offers support as the name stands for “business, engagement, assistance and mentorship.” The goal is to assist you on the road to a lucrative business, and they do that by hosting a free Business Academy every year. If you are unable to join the academy, you can still check out the free webinars posted on their site.

The One Where a Cat and an Elephant Switch Places

Tabitha and Fritz Trade Places (Two Lions) by Katie Frawley, katiefrawley.com
In hopes of changing their scenery, an elephant and a cat decide to switch places. Join Tabitha and Fritz as they journey through one another’s habitats. Recently released, the children’s book is authored by Fort Lauderdale local Katie Frawley, who is also winner of the 2018 Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators Rising Kite Award for Picture Books in Florida. Be on the lookout for Frawley’s next book, which will be announced in the next few months.

Making Magic

Magic Playhouse, 2824 E Commercial Blvd., 954.256.6119, IG: @magicplayhousefl
Everything is possible at the Magic Playhouse! The indoor play palace allows children to explore their imagination with the help of mini houses and stores. The new location includes new features, like a grocery store, brand new firehouse, a family home and doctor’s office. If you need a place to host a kid’s birthday party, look no further. The playhouse can be decorated in different themes for parties at your request, plus they do all the planning and preparation. There’s also an indoor playground with toys and activities that are sanitized between uses. They’re offering summer camps now and “Baby and Me” small group classes in the fall.
