Keeping the Years at Bay

  • September 27, 2019

Anti-aging treatments are often considered as an act of vanity, but one Fort Lauderdale business is at the forefront of changing that perception.

Have you ever considered what makes someone attractive beyond physical beauty? This is the essence of the philosophy Dr. Shino Bay and his team dedicate themselves to instilling in their patients. According to them, perception of physical beauty is the most subjective of all human behaviors and thus the pursuit of physical beauty is separate from the desire to be attractive. Attraction is the compelling energy that one emits which captivates those around them. It is an intangible joy and confidence that radiates from one who has inner peace.

Walking into Shino Bay Cosmetic Dermatology’s office, you are immediately greeted by smiling faces. A spacious, light filled, peaceful waiting area infuses a feeling of welcome and familiarity. It is this same feeling of inner peace that Dr. Aguilera and his team encourages with their patients during their visit.

Their one guiding principle is honesty, and staff are trained to never ever sell anything. Products and services can only be prescribed or recommended based on patient need after consultations and in-depth assessments. Their state-of-the-art facility, world renowned signature techniques and heavy investment in the newest technologies are some of the factors that set them apart.

The team at Shino Bay prides themselves in celebrating inner beauty and focusing on only improving the outer self when it gets in the way of living one’s best life. They don’t encourage getting too much work done, which is odd for a practice in an industry that feeds off this. On the contrary, they provide honest opinions to ensure you are making rational decisions and achieve natural looking results.

“If we do our profession proud, our best work is so subtle that everyone will notice you look amazing, but no-one will know you have had anything done.”
“Fillers are still number one because our patient base is of the age where revolumization of soft tissue and bone loss is apparent,” states director of marketing Loren Psaltis. She says neurotoxins are now standard procedure in anti-aging protocols, making them just as popular, and most rejuvenation appointments combine the two.
Other procedures on the rise include threads (suspension sutures), under eye treatments, body contouring, CoolSculpting and non-surgical 3D butt lifts using injectables.

Dr. Aguilera is one of the top requested speakers at major conferences around the world to teach and demonstrate his techniques as he has pioneered many novel approaches to the art of aesthetic medical treatments.

All these procedures seek to address one issue; aging. However, the staff at Shino Bay says aging is not the end of youth. “It is a time to embrace new concepts and try new things that inspire us because we are no longer limited by the insecurity of our younger, inexperienced selves,” they share. “Aging well is as spiritual as it is physical.”

“Patients come to us for help, they come to us when they are feeling vulnerable, sensitive and fearful of the aging process.”

They say if you look good, you feel good. Subtle improvements in your physical appearance can change your outlook on certain situations and help you make confident decisions.

People are naturally drawn to those who exude confidence, smile more often and are positively inclined.

It is very common for patients to seek to enhance their beauty during life-changing events. “We like to say that, although we do not do life-saving procedures, we do life-changing procedures.”

That’s why Shino Bay Cosmetic Dermatology emphasizes that physical attributes and inner characteristics are equally important. When your mental state is healthy, you are more inclined to make rational decisions to improve your appearance for positive reasons. Self confidence, empowerment and the desire to maintain youthful vitality throughout the aging journey is their commitment to their patients.

Being connected with your spirituality is integral to Dr. Aguilera’s philosophy. So much so, he uses his social media platform (with over 60K followers on his personal and company Instagram) to spread positivity, love and light.

One caption reads, “My mission is to raise vibration to a higher level through the experience of beauty. This will in turn show others how their hearts can be lightened to have a spiritual experience.”

Dr. Aguilera takes his spiritual guidance beyond social media and into his everyday life. “Many consultations run on for much longer than discussing treatment plans. Patients talk of their emotional and mental health problems, their stresses and their insecurities. And we journey with our patients over the years.”

You’ll also find several videos of him being silly and spreading laughter around the office – evidence that he makes it a priority to build a culture of love and light in his practice amongst his team.

His principles of kindness, empathy and celebrating the miracle of life are deeply ingrained in those who are with him daily. “We have fun at work,” shares Psaltis. “We encourage freedom of expression, creativity, individuality and respect for one another, our patients and business partners.”

They want anyone who walks into their office to feel that same uplifting energy and to leave feeling better overall.

“We have so many patient stories of how these procedures have impacted their lives and the quality of life that can be restored through being ‘given back some years, because when you look younger, you feel younger and you do younger things with younger people,” says Psaltis.

Just as they embrace inner beauty, the the staff radiates this same quality. While the office itself is elegant and modern, the inner workings of the team is what keeps people coming back.

“Our mission is to keep our patients aging as gracefully as possible without obvious intervention.”
