Since it opened six years ago, Magnolia Caffee has been a haven for those seeking more than just a caffeine fix. Besides its impressive food and drink menu, this café showcases captivating artwork and offers customers an uncommon vintage shopping experience. “We wanted to create something unique because we don’t like that cookie-cutter stuff,” said Monika Harmulowicz, co-owner of Magnolia Caffee & Green Light Gallery. “We love eclectic, funky, out-of-the-box thinking. Something that is nothing like anyone else.”
From old books to vintage toys and other oddities, the Magnolia Caffee & Green Light Gallery features such a wide variety of art that you might happily wander around for hours. The only thing more exciting than the artwork is the menu, which offers options from artisan coffee and handcrafted kombucha to avocado toast and Parmesan chicken.
Harmulowicz infused Magnolia Caffee with the culinary traditions passed down from her mother and grandmother. She meticulously prepares almost every dish on the menu, and nothing is ever frozen. “Everything is made daily, in-house and fresh from scratch,” Harmulowicz explained. “We don’t outsource anything except for bread.”
Two signature menu items are named after the café itself. The Magnolia Waffle offers a sweet-and-savory blend of flavors, with one side adorned with strawberries, bananas and whipped cream, and the other boasting avocado and two eggs. Then there’s the Magnolia Cappuccino, which is infused with white hot chocolate and raspberry flavoring. “It makes me happy when people love my baking and get excited to try a piece of carrot cake or my pistachio banana pudding,” Harmulowicz said. “It truly brings me pleasure when people enjoy what I make for them.”
While enjoying your meal, you can sit outside among the colorful butterflies that flit around the property, or inside surrounded by the cafe’s alluring artwork. Whether you’re looking at Peter Max pieces or perhaps a painting by Harmulowicz’s co-owner Eric Salwowski, something is bound to catch your eye when you visit Magnolia Caffee & Green Light Gallery.
