Carvelle Estriplet’s bicycle shop has been so successful that it recently moved into new, larger digs on Sixth. Carvelle’s an ace bicycle mechanic, and her shop carries fun, stylish brands State Bicycle Co. and Retrospec. (Wu-Tang Clan fans should check out State’s special Wu-branded bike.) Carvelle works with bicycle owners on bigger projects or ones requiring more hard-to-find parts, and her everyday selection includes some of the best-looking bicycles in town.
Bicycle Evolution

Not much more evolution is needed here; this shop has already grown into one of the most respected names in Fort Lauderdale cycling. Owner Matthew Swinehart is a well-known local bicycle mechanic. In addition to carrying brands including Fuji, Marin and cruiser brand Sun, Bicycle Evolution is known for a shop that can take on difficult jobs with older or rarer bikes.

This nondescript shop in a strip mall on the northeast corner of Dixie and Commercial is a great hidden gem for the cycling community. In addition to a good selection and an excellent shop that does quality work for reasonable prices, they tend to regularly have interesting used bicycles for sale. Definitely a place to go if you’re looking to have a bicycle that’s not like every other one on the road.
