March brings fresh inspiration, from the vibrant design scene to extraordinary dining and nostalgic memories.
Dear Readers, March has always been special for me. Not only does it mark spring’s arrival and fresh beginnings, but it also happens to be my birthday month. Growing up here, some of my best memories are tied to places that shaped my love for this city. One of those places is the legendary MAI-KAI, a spot that was part of my childhood and is now making its grand return. Seeing this landmark reopen reminds us that great design, much like great memories, stands the test of time.
This issue is dedicated to design—the spaces, the visionaries and the craftsmanship. From striking interiors to innovative vision, we’re showcasing some of the most exciting projects by a local developer. If you’re looking to refresh your home or simply appreciate the artistry, this issue is packed with the inspiration you need.
And while we’re on the topic of experiences you won’t want to miss, our DINE Fort Lauderdale series continues with an exquisite five-course wine pairing dinner at Timpano. Executive chef Omar Lorenzana has crafted an incredible menu that highlights bold flavors, expertly paired wines and the signature Italian-American flair that makes Timpano a standout in Fort Lauderdale’s dining scene. If you haven’t secured your spot yet, now is the time!
Each dinner in the series celebrates the city’s dynamic culinary talent, bringing food lovers together for an unforgettable experience. Guests will enjoy selected wines provided by our exclusive wine sponsor, Go Wine, perfectly complementing each course. And to start the evening in style, Los Magos Sotol will be featured as the opening drink, setting the tone for a spectacular night. Don’t miss out! Grab your tickets now at flmag.com/dine.
We’re also setting off on a new adventure this month to Three Waters Resort and Marina in the Florida Keys. Travel has a way of broadening perspectives and providing inspiration, and we can’t wait to share all the experiences waiting for you there.
Whether you’re rediscovering a childhood favorite like MAI-KAI, indulging in a world-class dining experience at Timpano or finding design inspiration in these pages, I hope this month brings you as much joy as it does for me.
