Welcome to the March issue of Fort Lauderdale Magazine, where we dive into the world of design.
This month, we’re celebrating the creative visionaries who bring creativity, innovation and inspiration into our lives.
I am thrilled to introduce you to some of my favorite designers who have captivated audiences with their unique perspectives.
First we have Galey Alix, a visionary and interior designer whose work seamlessly blends form and function. With a keen eye for detail and a passion for pushing boundaries, Galey transforms spaces into works of art, creating environments that are both aesthetically stunning and practical for everyday living.
However, it wasn’t easy to get where she is now. You’ll read about her greatest transformation in our interview.
Next up is the talented Mary Jurek, whose exquisite collection of stainless-steel tableware has captured the hearts of design lovers. From sleek serving trays to elegant flatware, Mary Jurek’s designs marry timeless elegance with modern sophistication, elevating any dining experience to new heights of luxury. She never misses the mark and has become a local favorite over the years.
And let’s not forget Vagabond House, a renowned brand synonymous with artisanal craftsmanship and timeless beauty. Dedicated to preserving traditional techniques and committed to sustainable practices, Vagabond House has become a beacon of excellence in home decor and tableware. Looking through their designs, you’ll notice their attention to detail when it comes to themes — ideal for any holiday or seasonal home decor.
Aside from design, we cover a big update on Searstown in which we get the developer’s point of view. We also highlight two hot new restaurants in the area: North Italia and Velvet Taco.
For local foodies, our 2024 DINE Fort Lauderdale series begins this month, kicking off with The Capital Grille and Truluck’s. Each course will be paired with a wine exclusively picked by Total Wine & Spirits. To celebrate, our Grazings story features the delectable desserts to be served at each dinner.
Lastly, we had to make millennial dreams come true and interview NSYNC’s Joey Fatone. He’s reuniting with a fellow ‘90s boy band heartthrob, AJ McLean of Backstreet Boys, to give local fans a glimpse into their personalities. Their performance at the Broward Center will be intimate with games, musical performances of songs chosen by the audience along with a band and so much more that will have your inner tween screaming.
Wishing you a March filled with vision, inspiration and endless possibilities.
