Hokey Poke

Raw Poke Bar, 1304 E. Las Olas Blvd., rawpokebar.com
Long a favorite in Hawaii, this cuisine – pronounced po-KAY – is making waves on Las Olas. Customers can create their own poke bowl or burrito. Try their most highly requested signature dish, the Kona bowl. This fast, healthy, casual food may come from the Pacific, but sounds like it should fit in fine near our beach.

Three-Peat

Hurricane Burgers, Tacos and Wings, 5975 N. Federal Hwy. #103, hurricanebtw.com
A hurricane of delicious delights, a perfect storm to get lost in.  This new local hangout is a triple threat specializing in burgers, tacos and wings. Customers can have their burgers made with double or triple layers of meat. Taco fans have a choice of fish and chicken, while wings nuts can choose from a selection of 22 different wing sauces, from sweet to melting-your-face spicy. And if you can’t make up your mind between the three, try the combo. There are plenty of drinks to complete a delicious meal including milkshakes and local craft beers.

Small World, Big Buffet

Nabu American Fusion Buffet, 3485 N Federal Hwy., nabuamericanfusionbuffet.com
Japanese meets American cuisine at this newly renovated, chic Japanese buffet. The buffet has an array of choices featuring not only American and Japanese cuisine but also Chinese and Italian. Diners have more than 30 different options of sushi to choose from, and a cold bar where customers can have their choice of seafood served chilly.  If you see a little smoke, don’t worry – that’s the hibachi grill firing up some food.
