Using the Ol’ Bean

Bean & Barnacle, 4660 El Mar Dr., Lauderdale-By-The-Sea, 754.312.5775, plungebeachhotel.com
Fresh coffee, savory sandwiches and decadent ice cream by the beach—what more would we need? The Bean and Barnacle sits on the ground floor of the main building of the hip, art-covered Plunge Beach Hotel. The casual spot serves Wells Coffee, fresh-brewed hot and nitro-brewed cold coffee, fresh pressed juices, craft beers and Kombucha tea. If you’re hungry, there’s also a selection of salads, homemade pastries and sweets, and a variety of ice cream from gelato to sorbets.

A Dash of Delivery

DoorDash, 844.285.0248, doordash.com
Feeling sick, lazy or just plain busy? DoorDash, the nationwide food delivery app, just expanded to Fort Lauderdale and is making our lives a lot easier. They’ve partnered up with over 450 local restaurants to deliver right to your doorstep. Included are Shooters, Casablanca, Mai-Kai, Mario’s Catalina, Sky Thai Sushi and Steak 954. But how does it compare to other food delivery apps? According to Business Insider, DoorDash is the top contender for its quick delivery (all orders fulfilled in less than an hour) and no minimum delivery. 844.285.0248, doordash.com

The Godfather

Padrino’s Cuban Cuisine, 1135 N Federal Hwy., 954.210.8989, padrinos.com
The South Florida-based, family-owned and operated restaurant of three generations, Padrino’s Cuban Cuisine, has come to Fort Lauderdale for its fifth location. The upscale-casual spot is serving up original and authentic Cuban recipes with quality ingredients and a modern spin. Lucky for us, this location is the first to feature a full bar with innovative cocktails and also the first to include a traditional brunch with Cuban flavor on the weekends. Of course, we can’t forget to mention they will also host their widely known weekday lunch buffet.
