Mighty Mighty

Brick House Gastro Kitchen, 3419 N Andrews Ave., 754.223.5678, albrickhouse.com
The people behind this Oakland Park spot describe their cuisine as “a mix between American, Caribbean and Haitian.” Restaurateur Joseph “Al” Baguidy is originally from Haiti and has packed his menu with tropical Atlantic flavors. The constantly evolving menu features a Haitian-style griot appetizer with plantains, pan skillet pork loin on a bun top with fries, and pan-seared shrimp salad. Happy hour runs every day from noon to 7pm.

In Aida Flavor

Aida Mexican Seafood, 911 NE 4th Ave., 954.533.0998, aidarestaurant.com
The contemporary Mexican seafood restaurant, which has a sister location in Coconut Grove, brings a cool, modern dining option to the increasingly popular area around the MASS District. Notable menu items include Pulpo Zarandeado (sautéed octopus, salsa talla, Mexican dry pepper emulsion, mixed greens and citrus vinaigrette), Corn-Crusted Chilean Sea Bass and the Aida Shrimp Burger. The food is complimented by a cocktail menu featuring a handful of signature drinks including the Violeta (mezcal, chartreuse, prickly pear, lime and simple syrup) and the Citrico (mezcal, Drambuie, St Germain, orange infusion, lime and simple syrup).
