Play On, Playa

Playa Bowls, 100 Commercial Blvd., Lauderdale-By-The-Sea, 954.530.6012, playabowls.com
Move over açaí, Playa Bowls has seven bases to choose from. The variety includes banana, greens, coconut and more. Menu items include the Nica Banana Bowl – banana blend topped with granola, banana, strawberry, walnuts, cacao nibs and peanut butter. They also offer smoothies, juice, coffee and grab-and-go snacks.

Steaks for Days

Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar, 401 E Las Olas Blvd., 954.233.3327, flemingssteakhouse.com
A high-end steak spot has made Las Olas its home. Fleming’s has everything from signature starters to a range of classic and specialty steaks to premium seafood. It’s located on the ground floor of the Bank of America building, but the design vibe is definitely not “bank lobby.” Ocean-inspired elements like hues of blues, orange and taupe, and chandeliers strung with silver stingrays, give it a Lauderdale feel. Menu items include Roasted Portobello and Cauliflower Steak (crispy potato marrow with chimichurri and farro, asparagus and pickled onions with mushroom demi-glace).

Need Dinner, Mister?

Mister O1, 415 NE 4th St., 754.253.5785, mistero1.com
This pizza joint serves up traditional fare like the Bella Margherita (Italian tomato sauce, mozzarella, fresh fior di latte cheese and basil) and items with a bit more kick like the Alessanda Jalapeño (Italian tomato sauce, mozzarella, fresh mushrooms, zucchini, spinach and roasted peppers). They also offer calzones, a burrata bar, salads and coffee.
