The Lasso Supper

Lasso Gaucho Brazilian Steakhouse, 2457 E Sunrise Blvd., 754.223.4663, lassogaucho.com
This is churrascaria-style dining – but what does that mean? They specialize in all the meats – varied cuts of beef, lamb, chicken and pork – carved tableside by their gauchos. They also feature a gourmet salad bar and a full bar that offers a selection of world wines, cocktails and traditional Brazilian drinks.

Reason in Madness

Teriyaki Madness, 5073 N Dixie Hwy., Oakland Park, 954.541.5857, teriyakimadness.com
The national teriyaki chain is making a big push into South Florida, including this new Oakland Park location. The menu includes bowls like the chicken teriyaki, steak teriyaki, salmon teriyaki (duh) and the Yakisoba-style bowl (noodles, your choice of protein and veggies wok-tossed together). They also serve sides like chicken pot stickers and crab Rangoon.

Hey Mickey

Mickey’s Downtown Bistro, 4331 N Ocean Dr., Lauderdale-By-The-Sea, 954.351.0310, mickeysdowntownbistro.com
Inspired by famed New Orleans dueling pianos bar Pat O’Brien’s, Mickey’s brings lively entertainment and a party atmosphere to Lauderdale-By-The-Sea. The chef-owned restaurant serves Mediterranean cuisine and features regular weekly events and entertainment. Entrees include the Mediterranean Mixed Grill Brochettes (char-grilled beef and chicken shish kebab, lamb kafta kebabs, grilled vegetables, tahini sauce and house-made laffa bread) and Pork Chop Milanese (breaded rack of pork, spinach sautee, toasted Israeli couscous and arugula tomato salad).
